Sport Sheffield
GO Sheffield! has recently been created to drive forwards sport, play and physical activity development in Sheffield. GO Sheffield! is a strategic partnership made up of a range of organisations with a role to play in developing these areas of work.
The organisations involved include:
- Sheffield Hallam University
- Sheffield International Venues
- Westfield Health
- Sheffield City Council
- NHS Sheffield
- MLS
- In addition the partnership is currently looking to recruit two representatives from the voluntary and community sector.
This partnership replaces the three former partnerships that existed for this area of work: Active Sheffield, Sport Sheffield and Play Sheffield. Each of these partnerships has now been disbanded in order to form GO Sheffield!
The three city strategies that are in place for each strand (Sheffield’s play strategy, City on the Move and Sheffield – Lighting the Flame for Sport) will continue to be delivered through this partnership structure.
