National Governing Bodies
A National Governing Body is an organisation that governs sports and usually has a number of roles to ensure the development and achievement of their sport. This is not restricted to but can include:
- Governance of competition and league structures
- Development of a pathway from beginner to elite
- Development of Clubs
- Coaches and Officials development
- Increase participation, particularly in target or underrepresented groups
- Depending on the sport, facility development
- Setting health and safety guidelines, safeguarding policies and setting operating standards.
