Safer Recruitment

The majority of people who want to work or volunteer with children within sport are well motivated, and without these people, sports clubs and organisations would not be able to operate.  However, some individuals will try and use sport through voluntary and community organisations to gain access to children for inappropriate motives.  It is therefore essential that effective and robust recruitment and selection procedures are in place to help screen out and discourage those who are not suitable from joining your organisation or club.

Effective recruitment policies will benefit everyone as staff and volunteers will have clearly defined roles and responsibilities, which will have a positive impact on children; and parents will be assured that all possible measures are being taken to ensure that only people suitable to work with children are recruited.
