Sponsored
by SkillsActive and awarded by the Nancy Ovens Trust, the bursary is aimed at
paid or voluntary coaches and leaders in the active leisure and learning sector.
The
bursary, awarded annually, will be worth up to £2,000 and may be used by the
selected individual(s) to undertake training or an alternative work experience
within the UK or EU.
The
Nancy Ovens Trust and SkillsActive will appoint a mentor for the period of the
bursary. The bursary offers applicants the opportunity to tailor their own
experience in a way that will be most beneficial to their career/voluntary
activity. We look for intuitive ideas that demonstrate the motivation and drive
of applicants and are therefore flexible in terms of proposed experiences as
long as they match the required criteria.
This
could present a chance to see how your industry is operated in a different
culture or community or to take that learning break from your day job!
Last
year a number of applications were received that did not meet the application
criteria laid out on these web pages, and for future applications it is worth
visiting the bursary pages to see the sort of ideas that the selectors are
looking for.
