ClubMark
is a Sport England quality standard that all clubs with junior sections can
work towards, and demonstrates that the club provides a safe, effective and
child friendly environment.
All
National Governing Bodies that South Yorkshire Sport works with have their own
ClubMark accreditation (eg Clubs 1st – Hockey, CAPs – Netball, Swim 21 –
Swimming)
ClubMark
demonstrates that a club is Active, Accessible and Accredited, and in order to
gain the accreditation, clubs have to demonstrate that they meet a number of
criteria, including being constituted, having and implementing development
plans, and adopting policies including child protection and equality.
South Yorkshire Sport supports local sports development
groups and officers in helping clubs to achieve ClubMark. Once a club has
achieved ClubMark, it makes it easier for teachers and parents to signpost
their children towards joining that club, as they can be assured that the
children will gain a quality experience.
