20/07/2010 Play Goalball in South Yorkshire From September
South Yorkshire is starting its own Goalball Club.
Goalball is a sport developed for athletes who are blind or
partially
sighted. Only becoming fully included into the Summer Paralympics 1980,
Goalball
is an emerging sport that is now played across the world, gaining an
increasing
international following. All competitors wear eye shades so you don’t
have to
have a visual impairment to play the sport. Players judge the position
and
movement of the ball by the sound of the internal bell to judge the
position
and movement of the ball.
The South Yorkshire club is open to everyone aged 14 years
and over and starts on:
Tuesday 14th September 2010, @ The
English Institute of Sport Sheffield.
